It has only taken me about a year to take some time to update this thing. Wow! Life is good, I have learned so much already in 2011. It is also time for our life to begin again with Baseball. I feel like we hibernate for 3 months and then we have Baseball. I love it. Let me feel you all in on what is happening with us. Jade is graduating in May and all of the sudden I realize that the little time we have with her is going to even be less. Now I first started out with a little bit of anger over this (those who know me know I don't do little anger). Then I realized that life as the step parent and non-custodial parent is different then say the custodial parent. We have to be thankful for every moment we have with her. In all reality it has never been enough, but we have worked through it. Jade is looking to go to school down south at Snow or SUU. She also finished her basic EMT and is currently working on her Intermediate. Keaton & Korbin keep it entertaining and busy. Both have started baseball and their passion is alive again. Keaton is still on The Irish and has played with them for 5 years, he and one other boy are the only originals that started with that team. He is also starting the 9th grade in the fall and could possible start playing next year with the High School. Korbin plays on the 11U Viking team and is definately keeping up with big brother. They both have huge dreams to play baseball in college. Keaton dreams of being a Horn Frog for TCU, Korbin a Sun Devil at ASU. I encourage them to follow their dreams and don't let anything stop them. I guess I won't ever get to retire....Life is passing us by so quickly, I get completely freaked out when I think of it. So I try not to think about it and seems to to pass by quicker. To those of us who feel like we are on a train that just seems to be getting faster. I hope your ride is as good as mine.

OH HOW FUNNY

Well you know that kids say the darndest things, I don't know when they out grow that Korbin is 10 and he called me at work today to see if Keaton and him could go to the rec center to play basketball with Staley one of his friends. My response was "well, what time do you think you will be going". His response was " Staley's grandpa died so his Dad and Mom are at the monsterary. In my head I am thinking the what? It only took me a minute to figure it out so I said "you mean the mortuary"? He said "Yea, that's it". We all had a good laugh at work about it. The time seems to go by so quickly as I get older, that I recently stopped to realize that Jade is 17 and soon to be that independent (we hope) young woman who no longer will live at home or in our case every other weekend. Keaton is 12 only 6 more years and considered an adult, Korbin will be 16 at that time and then what. I guess it happens to all of us but it sure kinda freaks you out if you think about it so just don't. We also have been very fortunate that the economy has not affected us in the sense that it has other people. Brent and I are still employed and on those days when you just wish you didn't have to go, I try to remember that there are people out there without jobs, that can only wish that they could get up and go to one, or that are struggling with buying christmas for there kids even if it's the simple things such as maybe they need new socks or shoes. Maybe they are struggling with paying bills or even having food in the house. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle & bustle of all the things we take for granted that we can provide ourselves. There are so many people out there who could use help and never ask for it. This year we have been able to not only christmas shop for our kids been also been fortunate to help out a few kids and it surely brings you back to the true meaning of Christmas. It also makes you stop to be grateful that you aren't the one needing the help, although you do realize that if you were there are people out there willing to help. I pray for everyone to have a great Christmas, Happy New Year and be fortunate in the years to come.

2 SEASONS

It has been forever since I actually took time to blog. We have 2 seasons at our house which is baseball season and winter. Winter is here, thaaaank you. Well baseball season ended the second week of October and we also did football at the same time. Korbin played flag football which after watching Keaton play tackle football is much to more layed back, that is a blessing to me sometimes to have things a little more relaxing for awhile.
Keaton started Jr. High this year and life is so different. I thought he was so grown up in 6th grade, but it's like he is a different kid. He loves it. I can see how much he has changed just in the responsibility he takes on. He is turning into a little man and i thought that first year after he was born went by fast. Yes, he no longer thinks girls have cooties. Korbin is in the 4th grade and no longer has his older brother in school with him. It is a good thing we all have our babies to keep our minds off the older kids growing up and to remind us what it was like when they were younger. Anyway to everyone raising small children enjoy it before you know it they start Jr. High.

JUNE IS KEATON'S MONTH

We would like to dedicate this month to Keaton! He turned 12 on the 14th and there is something wrong with that. First not only does he attend Jr. High in the fall, but he wants to go to scout camp for a week. Now my first thought about scout camp was NO they lose scouts, you see it all over the news. Second my son needs a pocket knife for woodcarving so invision this with me will you, a bunch of 12 and 13 year old boys with pocket knifes. If that isn't an accident waiting to happen. After careful consideration and finding out a great friend of ours (who happens to be the 1st counselor in the bishopric) is going with the boys. I decide to let him go. Now the first day was monday the 15th the day after his birthday and they had not been gone 24 hours and I get a phone call from Norm at 8:15 pm telling me Keaton was doing his woodcarving and misunderstood it for thumbcarving. Now as pocket knifes go this is the least of the things I invisioned of a bunch of boys with knifes. So to keep the story semi short. Scout camp was in MT. Pleasant and wonderful friend and counselor Norm brought my son all the way back to Payson hospital for a few stitches and by the time we were done there it was 11:10 pm. So we all went home for the night and Norm and Keaton set out the next morning to finish there week at scout camp. 5 merit badges later, no swimming, and no more incidents they had a great time. HAPPY BIRTHDAY KEATON!

March Madness

Baseball Season. This is the time when our spring really starts to take off and extend into summer. Having two boys who are extremely dedicated to sports can be very busy, although the dedication to baseball surpasses all sports. Keaton who bleeds green for the team The Irish has played since he was 8 and Korbin bleeds red and black for The P.G. Pirates also since he was 8! The boys are now almost 12 & 10 and our sping & summers are tied to baseball. It can be very hard to work in vacations especially with family. Thanks to them they are very supportive and we try to work around it. As for the immediate family Brent helps assistant coach on Korbin's team so he travels with that son and I go to cheer on Keaton. It can be rough not being able to see the other boys game because of the split up Brent and I do, but the boys seem to understand since their are two of them. Jade loves to watch her brothers play. Tanya and the girls also cheer them on. We are getting ready to attend a tournament in the St. George/Mesquite area starting March 19 of course called March Madness with both boys. May they play well! Here are some great pictures of the boys taken a while back although they are not action ones I'll blog some of those when we get back from the tournament!

2009

Ok, so I was wondering if we can hurry up this first part of 2009! They say things happen in 3's and we have had some challenges already this year. I am hoping they will just happen quickly so we can get on with it. First, Tanya has had some challenges and needed to be put back on track with her recovery. That was very hard for me to realize again that things do not nor will not happen the way we want them to. What someone else struggles with sometimes is not what we all can understand and everyones struggles are different. We just found out a week ago that Brent's youngest sister Pam has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer she is 36 years old. Brent had a brother that had a malignant brain tumor and went through chemo treatments, so cancer is not new to them. Jeff was in remission the year Brent and I was dating (1992) and suffered a seizure at the wheel of his car. The result of the accident was his death. Jeff was 27! You know not every one of us is gonna end up with cancer, but I realize that we all have our own cancers they just come in different forms, whether we are fighting an addiction, cancer, financial struggles, employment problems, sickness, etc. We all have a huge fight before us and I am so glad that we have God to get us through. I have learned in the past year more so than ever that during those struggles our trust and faith just gets stronger. So to everyone and their cancers God Bless You and may you have faith it will work out the way God wants it to.

OH HOW I LOVE NEIGHBORS

TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE GREAT NEIGHBORS YOU KNOW EXACTLY HOW I FEEL! LET ME ENLIGHTEN YOU. LAST WINTER BRENT SPENT 3 MONTHS ON LEAVE FROM WORK BECAUSE OF BACK SURGERY, WELL WE ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE A 4 WHEELER SPORTING A SNO PLOW AND BRENT ENJOYS IT LIKE A LITTLE KID. HE SPENT THOSE 3 MONTHS PLOWING OUR WHOLE NEIGHBORHOOD AND I MEAN EVERYONES DRIVEWAY, SIDEWALK AND WHATEVER ELSE HE COULD PLOW! THE NEIGHBORS WERE SO THANKFUL THEY DID A GIFT FOR BRENT AT THE END OF THE SEASON. MY COMMENT WAS "WHAT ARE THEY ALL GONNA DO NEXT WINTER WHEN YOU GO BACK TO WORK". BRENT IS GONE ALOT AND IS ONLY HOME 1-2 TIMES A WEEK. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO RUN THE SNO PLOW (PATHETIC HUH). OUR GREAT NEIGHBOR TODD HAS ADOPTED THE 4 WHEELER AS HIS SHARED NEW TOY AND I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THAT. I THINK HE MIGHT ENJOY IT ALMOST AS MUCH AS BRENT, BUT THEY SURE ARE SPOILING THE NEIGHBORS AND ME! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOU DO I AM SO THANKFUL FOR GREAT NEIGHBORS AND DEFINATELY WILLING TO SHARE THE TOY!

December.........
It is a time to be grateful for all the things we have. I am so grateful for my family that is healthy, happy, and content. Brent and I have been doing the normal things like working and taking care of our family. We are both so thankful to have jobs that have not really been effected by the "Recession". As for Brent's everybody needs to eat right and with me in the medical field it really doesn't change. In fact it is my busiest time of year, everybody has met there deductibles so they all want to have surgery before the end of the year. So again we are thankful for our occupations because so many families have been effected. Jade is currently an official licensed driver (drivers beware), actually she is very good just like everything else she has always been really responsible. Keaton & Korbin are getting ready to start basketball and keep us on the up and up. All 3 Kids are looking forward to the snow since they all have a snowboarding hobby and a dad who uses them as an excuse to go skiing. Yes he is in the clear since his back surgery to go ski the mountain (imagine that). We are also blessed with our extended family that lives with us. Tanya and the girls are doing wonderful. I am so proud of her and what she has accomplished in a year. She has made some very difficult decisions that have just made her a stronger person. She recently started dental assisting school and her support system seems to grow and grow. She is an amazing person and all four of them have been a great addition to our family. Happy Holidays to all and God Bless Everyone!

October..........

I have not posted for ever! I'm so sorry to all those who like myself look for new updates on all my friends and family! I want to tell you how busy I am but, who isn't! We are finishing the end of fall baseball and O what a great time! Both Keaton and Korbin finished the season participating in the "Fall Extravaganza" tournament. Korbin's team did so well, the won 2 out of 4 games and only lost the other ones by 1 point and 4 points they really have stepped up to the plate (ha,ha,ha) and learned alot this season! Keaton made it to the championship game which we have not experienced up until this weekend. It was a very intense game and we ended up be the runner-up with a loss of 10-16! Congratulations to the En Fuego for going as far as they did! I always feel like I need to do pictures with my blog unfortunately I do not have any of the games! We have enjoyed our Summer and hope that the Fall will be just as good! We are getting ready for the next holiday which of course is Halloween, Keaton hates this holiday! He does not like the scary version of costumes to put it mildly, he says he may not even want to go trick or treating. Korbin still is trying to figure his costume and of course the little girls have picked there costume and are ready. Jaycee is to be Snow White, Kayla is Cinderella and Alexia will be the cutest bunny ever! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

On sunday Tanya & I decided to do a picnic with the kids. So we loaded her 3 girls, my boys and lunch in the car. We went to Bridal Veil Falls to have our picnic. It was a gorgeous day, nice and warm. I got a wild hair to hike the falls with a little concern as to if the kids could make the hike. The kids were amazing! Jaycee & Kayla (ages 5 & 4) hiked without any whining at all they were such troopers. My boys were so great at helping the girls through the rough patches and I packed 15 month old Alexia all the way! Whew, that was a little nerve racking. It was such a great moment when we all got to the top and Tanya mentioned how grateful she is that she could share that moment with her girls, it made me realize how important it was that I got that wild hair. The only thing I regretted was not bringing the camera!

August.........Well Korbin turned 9 on the 9th and wow, my baby is getting so big. He is probably the silliest of the boys and he is also very easy going. He has all day to do what he is doing and he has good intentions on "doing it in a minute" although a minute very rarely comes with out Brent or I getting on his case. He is a good boy and can be very helpful. We also recently went to Flaming Gorge for a weekend trip before school started. It turned out to feel more like October than August. Our river run usually turns into a huge water fight and lots of water. This trip we only got wet if the rapids got us wet. The high during the day was 68 degrees and at night we turned the furnace on in the trailer. Lisa, I thought of you and your family as we drove through Vernal. I hope all is well. School started today and I think I get more emotional the older I get. I got teary eyed taking Korbin into his 3rd grade class, this coming from a mom who did not cry when they started Kindergarten. What is up with that? Also we will be starting baseball life again both boys are playing fall ball. I love getting back to a scheduled life after summer, but it sure is hard to keep up with all of it and work.

Okay-Otter Creek! We are getting ready to go on a camping trip for 6 days all 9 of us! We are very excited about this trip. My family gets together quite often so last year Brent's family decided to try to do a trip together. It turned out to be such fun that I recommended it to Brent to try to get an annual trip going since Brent has lost 2 brothers we feel it is extremely important to make memories that will last through several generations we hope. The cousins really have a great time and it's nice to sit and visit. I am especially excited to get to share this trip with Tanya & her girls it will be so good to have them there, they missed out on alot of good times with the family. Tanya just bought the girls a life jacket for the trip, the girls were so excited they had to try them on with their pajamas and wear them around the house it was quite cute. Jade is also going with us this time so it will be great for her to share this special event with all of us. My boys love the fishing, swimming and everything about the trip. I will have to share pictures when we get back!

So here it is... I have had one of my worst nightmares come true. Korbin was playing baseball in a city league tournament on thursday night. I dropped him off to warm up with the team and ran back home to change my clothes so I could get back to the game as soon as possible. Of course the game starts before I get back and Korbin hits his first Homerun (in the park) and I'm not there to see it, nor is his dad because of work. What's done is done right. Well tell my heart that. Now Korbin gets a coupon for a free drink at the snack shack for the homerun and he replies "that's ok I don't need a drink the homerun is enough" while grinning from ear to ear. His mom is heartbroken to think she didn't get to see it and feels completely robbed of a great childhood moment. So for all those parents that feel like they missed a moment of impact in their childs life,
I feel for you!

Well, it has happened! Keaton turned 11 on the 14th of June! It was a hit, I worked and Brent took 8 boys miniature golfing, then back to the house for pizza and treats! The 8 boys finished off 3 medium pizzas is seconds. Now I know these boys parents and they are fed on a regular basis all I can say is I have no idea how families of say, 5 or 6 boys feed them all! I don't know if they ever really get full. Anyway they all seem to have a good time. I have to confess I am not much of a party planner, in fact I hate it. Birthdays are important to me I just hate planning parties, the time to plan etc. I also think there should be some ethical code as far as giving a mom a party invitation no less than a week in advance, just to be considerate! My sister Wendy is the party planner, that girl goes all out. The parties she plans are usually themed and focus around that theme. Maybe I should see if she could just plan my kids' for them! P.S. She would also need to be in charge! (ha, ha).

It is now 2 days away from my son turning 11! According to his thoughts he can do anything he wants, According to us (the parents) life for him does not change. I think the challenges of parenting does not ever get easier the challenges just turn to different things and I'm not sure we are ever ready for teenagers. I know I fear those years! Jade has been such a delight that she is not breaking us in very well. We are blessed with good children for the most part. I enjoy being a mother and working, it's the being a working mother that is not convenient. I do mange to accomplish the working mother thing on a weekly basis getting everyone where they need to be even if I can't be the one to get them there the arrangements are made and at the end of the week I sit back with a sigh and think to myself "I did it another week accomplished" until sunday evening and I'm back to planning my week again. So to all of you who are as busy as we are (who isn't) god bless you & good luck.

Hello the computer world!
